The king's
School
This is a place of joy and scholarly wonder. Of curious minds and endless discovery. Where the sound of music fills cloistered walkways and beautiful spaces inspire. This is a place beyond compare.
This is King's
The King’s School is actually three schools – The Senior School, Junior King’s and The King’s School International College. All three are located in, or near, the historic City of Canterbury and just an hour from London. We’re co-educational, offer boarding or day schooling and welcome pupils from the ages of 3 through to 18. Whichever school you choose, they are all The King’s School; united by a remarkable legacy, situated in a beautiful part of England and sharing an open and inclusive culture.
This is The Senior School
Our Senior School has many traditions, but standing still isn’t one of them. We boast a highly diverse pupil body and an international and open mindset, which continually builds on and enriches our heritage. The thirteen boarding houses, seven girls’ houses and six boys’, and three mixed day houses date from the 15th Century, and all are within or very close to the school grounds. Two thirds of pupils are boarders, a third day pupils and we welcome children between the ages of 13 and 18. Across all the years and houses there’s a real sense of unity and camaraderie. Of many fascinating minds, but one school.
This is The International College
Moving to a new country and school can be quite an adjustment, which is why we take the time to fully understand and support each individual pupil’s academic and emotional needs. Our award-winning facilities are purpose-built, with a maximum of 75 places to keep class sizes small, and we offer a 1-year fast-track GCSE programme. Our students also integrate with the Senior School, actively enabling them to mix freely and enjoy the many co-curricular activities together.
This is Junior King's
Spread over 80 acres, yet just two miles from the City of Canterbury in the tranquil village of Sturry, Junior King’s enjoys an enviable position on the banks of the River Stour. We were founded in 1879, next to Canterbury Cathedral, and moved here in 1929 – with Nobel Prize Winner Rudyard Kipling declaring us open. Based around a wonderful 16th century manor house and tithe barn, we offer day, boarding and flexi-boarding from the ages of 3 to 13. For the children, and us, this is simply a magical place to learn and grow.
