Some students may be new to learning English language, others might be bilingual, and some may be fluent speakers looking to experience the British boarding school life and culture. We offer tuition to suit different language abilities.
This includes an option for students who already have a high level of English language proficiency with a particular focus on Global Studies lesson content.
Our Global Studies programme is designed for students that are native English speakers or who already have a high level of English language ability (B2 level, upper intermediate) with a particular focus on gaining valuable knowledge and real-world experience, without any English language lesson content. The programme will focus on three core themes:
Knowledge-Based Learning
Students will explore topics including history, sustainability, politics, and international relations. The emphasis will be on expanding student’s knowledge in these areas with current, real-world examples being explored.
Skills-Based Learning
Using task-based learning methods, students will learn and develop real-world skills such as running a business, structing an academic essay, or conducting research with a focus on practical challenges, confidence, and solution.
Values-Based Learning
We encourage students to explore, challenge and develop the way they perceive and interact with the world around them. Featuring interactive activities such as debates, discussions, and presentations, helping students build self-confidence and a wider, world perspective.
In addition to this Global Studies content, each student selects an academy to complement their learning during the two-week programme.
A two-week programme will usually include 21 hours of Global Studies tuition, 12 hours of Academies tuition, as well as 3 off-site excursions each week in addition to the sports and social programme.
