At The Kings’ Summer School, our global studies programme offers an immersive academic experience for all of our students. Our classrooms encourage intellectual exploration in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Whether a student is passionate about history, politics, sustainability, international relations or economics, this course has something to inspire them. Students explore modern and topical subjects while strengthening their analytical and critical thinking skills.
We provide the perfect opportunity for our students to engage with global studies both individually and as part of a larger classroom.
Please Note: This course is for fluent English speakers (B2 level, upper intermediate). This programme focuses entirely on advanced subject learning and examining global issues.

How We Teach Global Studies
Knowledge-Based Learning
Knowledge-based learning forms the academic foundation of our programme.
Students will explore topics including history, sustainability, politics, and international relations. The emphasis will be on expanding student’s knowledge in these areas with current, real-world examples being explored.
Skills-Based Learning
Skills-based learning is all about teaching our students how to learn.
Our lessons encourage them to interrogate the information they are given, both in terms of what it says and who is saying it.
We present our students with task-based projects that simulate real-world problems. They then confer and create sustainable solutions to these problems. This encourages teamwork, creative thinking, project management, and many other skills that will serve them in their future academic and professional lives.
Students will learn how to research a subject matter and write about it eloquently with structured essay writing techniques. These tasks are designed to build confidence in analysing complex information, breaking it down, and presenting it clearly and persuasively.

Who is our Global Studies Programme For?
Our global studies programme is designed for fluent and advanced English speakers (B2 level, upper intermediate) seeking to challenge themselves academically. It is a course designed to foster and nurture critical thinking skills and apply them to the political, social, economic, and environmental issues that we face today.
The skills and knowledge we instil in our students are designed to serve them in their future academic career and beyond as they enter the working world.
Our global studies programme is not just about instilling subject knowledge into our students. It is also about helping them to develop critical thinking skills so that they may approach real-world issues with insight and confidence.
The two-week course includes 21 hours of structured global studies tuition. Each student also enrols in one of our amazing Academies, which involves 12 hours of content, to complement their programme.
