The day began in the classroom, and it was clear from the outset that our students were in a determined and positive mindset. Teachers across all groups were full of praise, not only for the quality of the work produced but also for the respectful, enthusiastic, and mature approach shown by every student.
Whether working on their English writing tasks, practising new vocabulary, or contributing to group discussions, each learner gave their full attention. Many students are now demonstrating real progress in both their confidence and fluency.
An Afternoon with Author Sheena Dempsey
In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to the programme — Sheena Dempsey, the brilliant author and illustrator behind the much-loved Pablo and Splash series.
Sheena led an exciting and interactive illustration workshop, introducing students to the world of character design, storytelling through pictures, and her creative process. With expert guidance, students tried their hand at drawing Pablo and Splash the Penguin, putting their own imaginative spin on these charming characters.
The room was filled with concentration, laughter, and moments of true artistic talent. Sheena also took time to answer questions about her work ad sign the students’ work. Sheena’s books will soon be available in China.
