Our final full day together was packed with everything that has made this summer so special – learning, laughter, creativity, adventure, and a touch of royal flair!
The morning began with our last classroom lessons, where students reflected on all they had learned over the past two weeks. It was a proud moment for teachers and students alike – watching how far everyone has come in such a short time. From writing and speaking to cultural knowledge and confidence, the progress has been truly remarkable.
After a final round of activities and games, the students headed off for one last exploration of Canterbury’s beautiful city centre. They strolled the cobbled streets with friends, picked up souvenirs, and enjoyed their independence while practising their English in real-world situations – ordering drinks, chatting with shopkeepers, and navigating this historic city like locals.
But the highlight of the day came in the afternoon, as we all gathered in the courtyard for our very special Certificate and Prize Giving Ceremony. Each student proudly received their certificate of achievement – a symbol of all they’ve learned and experienced. And then came a truly magical moment… the Royal Crowning! 🎉
the course, students have been designing and decorating their own crowns in art sessions, and today they were crowned Kings and Queens of the Summer School in a joyful ceremony full of cheers, music, and even a little royal pageantry. Some special prizes were also awarded for effort, kindness, creativity, and teamwork – with huge applause and beaming smiles all around.
The celebrations continued into the evening with a festive BBQ– burgers, veggie skewers, salads, and of course… ice cream for everyone! 🍔🍦
It’s hard to believe the final day is now upon us. What a journey it has been – filled with discovery, friendship, courage, and joy. Tomorrow brings goodbyes, but tonight was about celebration – and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to end.
