Shenzhen Exchange Blog #6 – Creativity and Exploration at Junior King’s School

Saturday was an adventure in every sense, as we travelled to the beautiful countryside campus of Junior King’s School, just outside Canterbury. With its open green spaces, woodland areas, and historical buildings, and it proved the perfect backdrop for a day of creative workshops and exploration.

The morning started with a mosaic art workshop, where students created their own designs using colourful tiles and glue. The students’ focus as they brought their patterns to life was a joy to see. Next came a music and drama session held in the school’s remarkable 16th-century tithe barn theatre. Students took part in energetic warm-ups, explored storytelling and music.

After lunch, students enjoyed an exciting orienteering challenge across the campus grounds. Equipped with maps and clues, students worked in teams to navigate trails, solve puzzles, and complete tasks, blending problem-solving, teamwork, and a lot of laughter.

The day ended in the most perfect way possible — a pool party in the outdoor swimming pool, complete with music, games, and plenty of splashing. With the sun shining and spirits high, it was the ultimate summer celebration.
